Emotion Amplifiers Master List

A character’s mood should alter and using emotional amplifiers such as pain, exhaustion, and attraction is a way to add conflict in a story. Using emotional amplifiers can complicate things, add tension, and make it colorful. Here is a list of emotions and emotional amplifiers in alphabetical order. I will add links to these and create a separate page for each one later. The ones that are clickable have already had a separate page created for them. If you can think of any I might have forgotten, please leave it in the comments below and I will add them.

This list is an ongoing list my professor had us build during an English Lit class in my freshman year of college. It was handy then and has proven handy over the years as a writer. If you haven’t bookmarked this list, I would pin it in Pinterest or add it to your list of bookmarks for future reference for when I add the clickable links.

The pages will include how to show a character that possesses these emotions or emotional amplifiers. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed building the pages.
