For as long as I can remember, writing has been my sanctuary. It’s where I escape, create, and make sense of the world. But over the years, I’ve struggled to define what kind of writer I want to be. I love writing fiction—crafting worlds, developing characters, and telling stories that transport readers to new realities. Yet, I’ve also felt a deep pull toward writing about the real world: the systemic injustices, the struggles of the less fortunate, and the fight for true freedom and equality.
After years of introspection, I’ve realized that my writing doesn’t have to fit into a single box. I can be a storyteller and an advocate. I can write fiction that inspires and essays that ignite change. Today, I’m excited to share my journey and announce the revamping of this blog to better align with my beliefs as a writer, advocate, and social justice warrior.
The Struggle to Define My Writing Identity
Like many writers, I’ve spent years trying to figure out where I fit in the literary world. I’ve dabbled in genres, experimented with styles, and questioned whether my writing was making an impact. Fiction has always been my first love—it’s where I feel most free to explore the depths of human emotion and imagination. But as I grew more aware of the injustices in the world, I felt a growing need to use my words for something bigger.
I found myself torn between two passions: the desire to create fictional worlds and the urge to address real-world issues. For a long time, I thought I had to choose one or the other. But now, I realize that both are essential to who I am as a writer and as a person.
Why I’m Embracing My Dual Passions
- Fiction as a Tool for Empathy
Stories have the power to connect us. Through fiction, I can explore complex social issues in a way that resonates emotionally with readers. Whether it’s a dystopian novel highlighting systemic oppression or a character-driven story about resilience, fiction allows me to address real-world problems in a creative and impactful way. - Non-Fiction as a Call to Action
While fiction can inspire empathy, non-fiction can inspire action. By writing about common issues—such as racial injustice, economic inequality, and environmental crises—I hope to educate, empower, and mobilize others to join the fight for a fairer world. - Writing That Means Something
At the end of the day, I want my writing to matter. I want it to spark conversations, challenge perspectives, and contribute to the ongoing struggle for real freedom and equality. Whether through fiction or non-fiction, my goal is to create work that leaves a lasting impact.

How I Hope to Help Others
- Amplifying Marginalized Voices
I want to use this platform to uplift the voices of those who are often silenced. Whether through interviews, guest posts, or sharing resources, I’m committed to creating space for diverse perspectives. - Providing Tools for Advocacy
Fighting for social justice can feel overwhelming, but it’s easier when we work together. I’ll share practical tips, resources, and strategies to help others take action in their communities. - Inspiring Through Stories
Stories have the power to change hearts and minds. Through both fiction and non-fiction, I hope to inspire readers to think critically, empathize deeply, and act boldly.
