Keyword Density and Keyword Stuffing
There are times when I often write for myself more than I do for the search engines and I do this because I want you to feel like I am writing for you and not for a computer who doesn’t care otherwise. Keyword stuffing is a term used with people most often stuff keywords into a post hence the word keyword stuffing.
I try not to stuff keywords into my post especially since this will actually cause search Engines like Google and Yahoo! to mistake you website as spam and it also will cause you to loose your traffic.
Instead of keyword stuffing you should try to integrate keywords into your blog so that it sounds natural to those reading it. I write for the Internet a lot in my freelance work and I have to use keyword density when writing. I have studied keyword density into my blog post and learned that it will actually cause you to rank higher and to get more traffic.
I have been studying the basics of SEO so that I can optimize my blog even more but I can tell you from experience that until you get the hang of it (I am still working on this) then there are a few things that you should know about keyword density, keyword stuffing, and the search engines.
A good tool to know your keyword density
Keyword density should be set for approximately 2% – 6% any higher and the search engines will pick it up as spam, any lower and it may not get picked up at all. There is an excellent tool that I use for keywords at Textalyser. Textalyser shows the keyword density of what you have written. In order to use Textalyser you must first copy and paste the article, post, or whatever you wrote into the selected area and down below on the left hand side it have an enter button, click it and it will give you the results.
Once you have the results for Textalyser scroll down and you will be able to see your keyword density for each word or keyword phrase.
TIP: Instead of using one keyword, try using a keyword phrase. Keyword phrases tend to work better than keywords alone since this is what people most often search for.
What if you want to use more than one keyword or key phrase?
I try to use more than one key phrase in my post and articles since it will actually cause it to gain more readers. The average keywords and key phrases that I use are between two and three. I try not to use any more than three since this would also be consider keyword stuffing.
I hope this helps you to understand keyword density a little more. If you have any suggestions, list them in the comment area and if I like what you say then I will add your tip to this post with your link.
